    Frits Jans(en) woonde van 1725 tot 1741 als "bruiker"(meyer) op stem nr.50 te Wolvega. Hij was daar boer en veehouder en had dus een zelfstandig bestaan. Uit de hypotheekboeken van Weststellingwerf blijkt onder meer dat hij op 9 december 1733 op een boeldag in Wolvega een "swarte koe" kocht voor 9 carolusguldens); Jan Hendrix uit Wolvega stelde zich daarvoor borg. Een paar jaar later - op 20 januari 1735- koopt hij een "wit grize koe" voor 14 cg en ook hier is Jan Hendrix borg. De indruk is dat Frits Jans niet geheel onbemiddeld was. Hij overleed daar op 28 maart 1741 "voorzien van de heilige sacramenten, obiit in Dno (=Domino) Frederick Jans.
