    mr papiermaker (oprichter/eigenaar) op de bovenste molenin de Horsthoek te Heerde. De Horsthoek is een buurtschap in de nabijheid van het huidige restaurant "De Keet".
    Rond 1715 werd de molen gelegd op de bovenbeek. In 1716 kreeg Derk het erfpacht van dit deel van de Griftbeek. Na het overlijden van Derk en Grietje werd de molen geerfd door de 4 kinderen.
