In de Jordaan woont nu, voor zover wij we- ten, niemand meer met de naam Papavoine. Maar in de Elandsstraat en in de Hazenstraat woonden voor, tijdens en na de oorlog meerdere gezinnen met deze naam, die in de Jordaan werd uitgesproken als ·ÄòPapavane·Äô.
Het Jordaanmuseum zoekt contact met nako- melingen van Hendrik TheÀÅodore Papavoine (1898 -1956). Zijn roepnaam was Henk of Hein. Hij had een groentewinkel in de Elandsstraat 121 (hoek Hazenstraat). Hendrik was volgens zijn nicht Tonie Papavoine getrouwd met Tante Ka. Zij hadden twee zonen, Joop (geboren in 1934) en Tonny (1944), en vier dochters, Tonie (1930), Kaatje (1937), Bet (?) en Koka (1941). Het gezin woonde boven de groentewinkel in de Elandsstraat. Hendrik overleed op 18 november 1956 in Bloemendaal. Wij willen in contact komen met iemand die meer weet over deze groentehandelaar. En misschien heeft iemand nog foto van hem. Wij hebben mensen gesproken die zich herinneren dan Henk of Hein zich het lot van vervolgden aan- trok tijdens de Duitse bezetting.
