Notes about Dingelom Hoogma


Dingelom had in Bolsward een steenhouwerij voor grafstenen op het Laag Bolwerk. Hij maakte o.a. de grafsteen voor Bisschop Jacobus Teerenstra in de kathedraal van Doume in Kameroen. Dingelom Hoogma chauffeurde voor de bisschop wanneer deze in Bolsward was. Tenminste als Dingelom nuchter was want hij lustte graag een borrel. Echter, bij verscheping is de eerste steen voor deze bisschop gesneuveld. Woedend schijnt Dingelom een nieuwe steen gemaakt te hebben en is, zittend op de steen en met een fikse drankvoorraad bij de hand, afgereisd naar Kameroen om de steen zelf op het graf te plaatsen. Het lijkt een sterk verhaal, maar is bevestigd vanuit twee bronnen: mijn moeder en Wietze Teernstra, mijn verre achterneef, wiens vader weer een goede bekende was van Dingelom.
