"Feike Rommerts op nr. 65 woonde schuin tegenover het huisje waar Jane Hoogma (overleden in 1974) woonde. Mijn grootouders Siebren en Grietje Palstra-van Dijk hadden hun achtertuin (zij woonden in de oude RK pastorie) naast het huis van Feike Rommerts. De vrouw van Feike Rommerts is jong overleden en Feike stond er alleen voor met 8 zonen. Mijn grootmoederstuurde haar dochters er regelmatig naar toe om te helpen in 't mannenhuishouden. Dat moet dus tussen 1934 en 1936 zijn geweest."
