    A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 10:30 a.m.Monday, May 24, at Monumenta Cemetery. A time of refreshments willfollow in the First Christian Reformed Church Educational Building.

    Arrangements are by Lynden Moles Funeral Home.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------William R. Honcoop, age 66, of Lynden passed away on Monday, May 17,2004 in Seattle after struggling with the effects of Guillain BarreSyndrome for several months.
    He was born on May 3, 1938 in Zevenhuizen, the Netherlands, to parentsNicolaas and Cornelia (Vander Horst) Honcoop.

    Bill immigrated with his family to Lynden in 1950 and had worked atvarious occupations and jobs in Whatcom and Skagit counties.

    Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother Maurice Honcoop.

    He is survived by his son, Steven, and his daughter, Julie, ofTennessee; four brothers, Joe Honcoop and wife Annalee and Nicolaas andwife Roberta, all of Lynden, and Len Honcoop of Shoreline and JimHoncoop of Tucson; four sisters, Nelly Voskuilen, Marie Tjoelker andhusband Henry, Anthonia Tjoelker and husband John, and Louisa Havemanand husband Ken, all of Lynden; and sister-in-law Wanda Honcoop ofBellingham.

    A graveside service for family and friends was held at 10:30 a.m. onMonday, May 24, 2004, at Monumenta Cemetery, Lynden, with Pastor AnandaPerera officiating. A time for remembrance, fellowship and refreshmentsfollowed at the First Christian Reformed Church Education Building.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to your favorite charity.

    Aanvullend bericht van John Tjoelker
    Het is niet een prettige tijd geweest want Willem heeft het niet gemakkelijk gehad, vroeg December heeft hij een operatie gehad voor een gebarsten maagzweer, wekenlang in het ziekenhuis geweest en toen naar een rusthuis om weer wat op te knappen, maar dat ging niet zo goed want na een paar weken kon hij opeens niet meer lopen en dat werd elke dag erger dus weer naar het ziekenhuis waar ze eindelijk uitvonden dat aan een ziekte leed Guillain Barre leed en toen was hij al gauw in totaal verlamd en kon niks meer bewegen, kon niet meer spreken of eten slikken en moest al gauw aan een long machine voor ademhalen. Hij is op slot naar een ziekenhuis in Seattle gebracht maar daar konden ze ook al niet veel meer voor hem doen en toen zijn (Kidneys) Nieren niet meer werkten is hij dan overleden. Voor de laatste paar maanden konden we niet meer met hem spreken..er komt nog wel wat meer over de familie in de volgende Lynden Tribune.
