David "Dave" Earl Jarnigan of Marysville, Washington passed away peacefully on January 8, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer. 54 years young, he was born on March 9, 1960 and was the eldest of two children born to Leonard and Beverly Jarnigan of Snohomish, Washington. Dave is survived by his wife and best friend of 24 years, Cheryl Jarnigan, as well as their dogs Jasper and Badger; his sister, Roxanne Honcoop; and many close friends and family. Dave was preceded in death by his dad, stepmom (Dody), and mom. Graduating from Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, Washington in 1978, Dave's thirst for knowledge and adventure drew him to The Boeing Company, where he was hired on June 18, 1980. He worked for 34 years at both the Seattle and Everett plants and loved taking on new challenges, traveling the world, and making life-long friends. And though he was only 60 days short of retirement, Dave had a zest for life that did not wait to live out his passions. As an avid garage sale enthusiast, Dave had an uncanny knack for scouting out treasures- so much so that his friends would ask him to be on the lookout for certain special items, which he did relentlessly until they were found. A huntsman from childhood, he loved fishing and hunting as much in nature as he did in someone's front yard. Dave lived his entire life in the Pacific Northwest and loved its outdoors. Dave and Cheryl especially loved vacationing at Pacific Beach where he enjoyed clam digging, campfires, and taking long walks on the beach with their dogs. There, at Park 400 (a home away from home), Dave's love of renewing and perfecting was naturally set to work beautifying the grounds for their friends to enjoy. His generous and giving spirit took the effort out of his endeavors and he was a great friend to so many. Dave left us too soon and he will be missed. A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held at Citrine Health Event Room, on Saturday, Jan 17, 2015, from 1-3 p.m., 2940 West Marine View Drive, Everett, WA 98201. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Providence Hospital and Cancer Partnership for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Dave and his family.
  • He is buried on January 17, 2015 in Everett, Snohomish County, Washington, USA.
  • A child of Leonard David JARNIGAN and Delores ANDERSEN
