    Tussen de jaren 2010 en 2017 is er een zoektocht naar zijn geboorte geweest. Zonder resultaat helaas.
    Op basis van de geboorte inschrijvingen van zijn kinderen, de trouwdatum in Schiedam, en zijn overlijdensdatum is een geboorte rond 1710 verklaarbaar.
    Door dat de geboorte inschrijving niet gevonden is, zijn er ook geen gegevens van zijn ouders bekend.
    Echter op basis van de in zijn gezin voorkomende voornamen is het zeer goed mogelijk dat zijn vader Christiaan genoemd wordt. In de genealogie Honc/koop komt omstreeks die tijd geen Christiaan voor. Een generatie terug bestaat die naam dan weer wel.
