Na haar huwelijk met Evert heeft zij nog jaren vele jaren samengewoond met Jen van Wingaarden op het adres aan de Nieuwe Binnenweg 463 te Rotterdam.

Jen werkte als BAAS van het oude stempel bij de scheepswerf Wilton Feyenoord in Schiedam en Rotterdam.

Volgens vertellen heeft hij ook gezorgd dat de 2 zonen van Clara daar werk kregen en tot aan hun afkeuring daar zijn blijven werken. De opleiding van deze kinderen is niet verder gegaan dan de ambachtsschool. Waarschijnlijk hadden zij zich via school verder kunnen bekwamen. De reden dat dit zo gelopen is, is niet bekend, maar de geldverdienste zal hier ook een grote rol in gespeeld hebben.
