    Frances Geraldine Van Mersbergen, of Lynden, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. She was 78 years old.
    Fran was born to Herman and Alyda (Meeboer) Stremler on Jan. 30, 1932, in Lynden. She was a compassionate, understanding and loving lady. She was supportive, accepting, nurturing and very hospitable. She loved sewing, cooking (she loved to feed her guests), gardening and traveling in her “little home.” Fran cherished her grandchildren and especially loved the Lord. She was very confident of her salvation.
    Fran will be greatly missed by her husband of 59 years, Bob Van Mersbergen; children Dale Van Mersbergen, Lori (Dewey) Honcoop and Sheri (Darren) Britsch; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Harold (Althea), Stanley and Ron (Bettie) Stremler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    A homecoming celebration was held in Fran’s honor at Faith Reformed Church on Tuesday, May 25, 2010.
    Memorial contributions may be made in Fran’s name to the Lynden Community Center Memorial Fund, 401 Grover St., Lynden, WA 98264. You may share your thoughts and memories of Fran with her family at www.molesfuneralhomes.com.
    Arrangements are by Moles Good Steward Funerals, Lynden.
