{geni:about_me} Malahulc (erroneously called Malahule, Malahue or similar) is the brother of Ragnvald Mørejarl, and mentioned by historian Orderic Vitalis. He could be the father of Robert and Hugo described below, but there is great uncertainty, since primary sources are not identified.

Norman historian André Davy (Les Barons du Cotentin, Marigny: Editions Eurocibles, 2009, p. 55) lists among his children Richard de Cotentin (ancestor of the barons of Saint-Sauveur), Hugues de Cavalcamp and Ralph de Bayeux.

MALAHULC . Orderic Vitalis (who wrote in [1113]) names Malahulc as an uncle of Rollo and ancestor of the Tosny family[138]. He is not mentioned in the Sagas.

--------------------

Eystein "The Noisy" Glumra was born in 788 in Maer, Nord Trondelag, Norway, son of Ivar "The Great" Halfdansson and (?) Eysteinsdatter.1

Eystein was Jarl of the Uplands in Norway about the year 810 AD. During this period the Viking raids intensified in Ireland, England and France. Raids became more numerous and the Vikings were soon to improve their methods of pillaging. Instead of landing 3 or 4 boats, raiding nearby settlements and going back to Scandanavia, they decided to scale-up. They brought between 50 and 100 boats of Viking warriors, landed, and set up a camp. From this base they then raided extensively into the surrounding countryside for a period of several months. They pillaged monasteries, churches, the fortresses of Irish Lords, and farms.

Eystein married Ascrida Ragnvaldsdottir circa 819 in Maer, Nord Trondelag, Norway. She was the daughter of Rangwald, Earl of Jutland.1,2

Eystein "The Noisy" Glumra died circa 872 in Norway.
