Siene is de dochter van Albert Gieljan. Daar zijn verschillende 'lijnen' met de familie Hobers:

*     Alberts broer Jan Hendrik Gieljan *1862 trouwt in op 't erve Hobers met de laatste naamdrager Hobers: Aaltje Hobers. Jan Hendrik overlijdt op 't erve Hobers. Zowel Jan Hendrik als Aaltje hebben dezelfde stamvader: Jan van Almelo.

*     Alberts zus Jennegien Gieljan trouwt met Hendrik Melenberg. Hendriks overgrootouders zijn neef en nicht; hun moeders de zussen Aeltjen *1707 en Annegjen Hobers *1718 zijn beiden afkomstig van 't erve Hobers in Ane.

*     De stamvader van de Siena Gieljan is Peter van Almelo (Gileams) *1720. De vader van deze Peter is Jan van Almelo die ook de stamvader is van de Nieuw-Amsterdamse tak Hobers.
