Dat betekent dat haar jongste zusje, de 5-jarige Gooitske wees is. Haar eigen dochtertje Gooitske Bijker is geboren een maand na het overlijden van Catharina's moeder Gooitske Tabak. Derk en Catharina nemen dan het 5-jarige zusje ook in huis en voeden haar op; er zijn dan dus twee Gooitskes in huis."
