Gradus heeft enkele betrekkelijk kleine vergrijpen gepleegd.
Vermoord te Oss op 11 december 1929 door zijn neef Jacobus van Berne (Toon Sossen), C10.
In café van Winkel ontstaat een twist tussen Gradus, de dan misschien niet ‘helemaal normaal’ is en zijn neef Koosje van Berne, mogelijk om een vrouw.
Gradus verwondt eerst zijn neef Koosje, die later verklaart daarna in ‘een waas’ met een broodmes uit de keuken Gradus gestoken te hebben.
Ciske de Bie (Jerina Bron) neemt het op voor Koosje, waarmee ze dan bevriend is.
Op p111 van DO wordt als slachtoffer Gerrit van Galen genoemd
