Hij moet in de buurt van de rivier de Aa gewoond hebben. Bij de huwelijksplechtigheid van zijn dochter was Harmen Jansen Moltmaker overigens afwezig. Misschien was hij ziek. Zijn plaatsvervanger was toen Monseigneur Smit in Groningen.
