    Nikolaus Kieninger was lidmaat van de katholieke kerk. Van 1729 tot 1743 was hij burgemeester en raadsheer in Burkheim. Hij schonk een apostelbeeld aan de Sint Petruskerk. Zijn familiewapen hangt aan het gemeentehuis. Hij ligt begraven in de kerk van Burkheim, voor het rechter zij-altaar. Daarnaast ligt zijn vrouw begraven. In de zijmuur bevindt zich zijn grafmonument, gemaakt door de kunstenaar A. X. Hauser. Het grafmonument van zijn zoon Georg Adam von Kieninger in Rastatt is van dezelfde kunstenaar (A. X. Hauser).
