Uit het huwelijk van Philippe de Croy en Anne de Beauffort stammen de prinsen van Croy-Solre, die nog steeds de Baronie van Beauffort bezitten. Philippe de Croy was het oudste kind uit het derde huwelijk van Jacques de Croy en Jolande de Lannoy Molembais.

    Hij stierf op 4-2-1612 in de Bohemen. Zijn lichaam werd in een roodkoperen doodkist overgebracht naar Kasteel Solre. Vervolgens werd hij bijgezet in de adellijke grafkelder onder de plaatselijke kerk.
