    "Anna von Falkenstein wird einmal, 1497, bei der Wahl der Äbtissin Barbara von Gundelfingen genannt. Seit 1508 ist sie Äbtissin des Damenstifts Säckingen; sie starb am 24. April 1524. Ihre Eltern sind Thomas von Falkenstein und Ursula von Ramstein; sie gehört also in die Familie der Freiherren von Falkenstein, die als Zweig der Herren von Bechburg aus der Gegend von Solothurn stammt, aber auch im Breisgau Fuß gefaßt hatte (Kindler von Knobloch 1, Stammtafel S. 335; Geneal. Handbuch 1 S. 236, Tafel XXIII). Die Übernahme der Abtei Säckingen erklärt, warum sie nur kurz in Buchau bezeugt ist."
