    Die Freiherren von Proff zu Irnich waren ein bergisches Adelsgeschlecht. Kaiser Franz I. erhob am 25. Juni 1746 die Freiherren von Proff zu Irnich zu Reichsrittern. Das Stammwappen der Familie von Proff zeigt innerhalb eines geschachten Randes auf goldenem Grund drei blaue Fische. Johann Caspar von Proff war bereits Landdinger (Richter) des Amtes Blankenberg. Sein Sohn war Peter Josef von Proff.
