    Marie (Betty Marie Jolanthe) Holtrop was actrice. Zij was de dochter van Jan Holtrop en Betty van Gelder. Zij volgde een opleiding aan de Reinhardtschule in Berlijn en aan de toneelschool in Amsterdam (diploma 1908). Suzanne in "De industrieel van Pont Avesnes" was haar debuut bij de KVHNT, waarna zij tot 1924 bij de gezelschappen van Royaards, Heijermans en Van der Lugt Melsert speelde. Na zes jaren niet gespeeld te hebben, maakte zij in 1930 haar come-back bij het N.V. Het Schouwtooneel. In '33-'34 was zij verbonden aan Tooneelgroep Het Masker. In 1934 stond zij voor het laatst op de planken. Marie Holtrop hield zich naast het acteren bezig met het vertalen van toneelstukken.
