De moeilijk leesbare tekst in het kerkboek van de Evangelische Kerk te Vacha, Thüringen betreffende het huwelijk van Johann Georg Herwig en Dorothea Elisabeth luidt:

"Johann Georg Herwig von Spangenberge, Urban Herwigs gewesener (overleden) Bürger daselbsten, nachgelassener eheleiblichen Sohn und Frau Dorothea, Hochlöblicher Peter Samuèls, gewesenen Würzkrämers, hinterlassene Witibe (= weduwe), den 22. Marty ohne Gepreng (zonder pracht en praal) in der Stille ehelich eingesegnet.

(Am) 13. der junge Hochzeiter hat nach Francfurt in die Meß zym (= zum: om) Waren einkauffen sollen, daher die Frawen und Kinder erster Ehe Beistände (huwelijksgetuigen) gern gesehen, daß die Ehe erst vollzogen werden möchte wie den der Bräutigam vom Hochlöblichen Metropolitan (toezichthouder van meerdere kerken) zu Spangenberg Zeug muß ahngeliffert."
