    Kunzel Wurmser was kunstschilder van beroep. Hij had als bijnaam "Meister Kunzel" of "Kunzel Bohemus". In 1310 werd hij uitgewezen uit de stad Neurenberg. Uit een notitie uit dat jaar valt af te leiden, dat Kunzel een broer van de schilder Nikolaus Wurmser was. Citaat: "Cunzel bohemus frater Nicolai pictoris". Het is echter wel merkwaardig, dat Kunzel hier een Boheem en niet een Duitser wordt genoemd.

    Kunzel en zijn broer Nikolaus Wurmser werkten samen met de Boheemse schilder Theodorich (Dietrich) van Praag. Ze hebben in Praag de eerste schildersschool opgericht. Beide broers waren de eerste Duitse frescoschilders, die aan ons zijn overgeleverd in de geschiedenis. Kunzel Wurmser heeft werken gemaakt voor de kathedraal in Praag en de slotkerk Karlstein te Praag.
