    Hij was arbeider. Na hun huwelijk op 20-4-1765 vertrokken ze op 15-5-1765 naar de doopsgezinde kerk (= vermaning) te Terhorn. Om welke vermaning het hier gaat, is niet helemaal duidelijk. De vermaning van Terhorn stond nabij Den Ham in de rechtstoel van Oldehove, de vermaning van Den Horn in Lagemeeden waar nu Den Horn ligt.

    De kinderen van Luif Jans en Itje Jans werden geboren in Den Ham, zo blijkt uit hun huwelijks- en overlijdensakte.
