    In 1826 woonde Jantje Willems Renkema bij haar oom Reinje Siemens Heemstra en haar tante Marijke Alles Roda op Het Dorp, een buurtschap onder Doezum. Wellicht werkte ze daar als huishoudster. Ze werd door haar oom en tante Janke Renkema genoemd. Haar oom Reinje Siemens Heemstra ging op woensdagavond 8 februari 1826 een borrel drinken in het café op Eibersburen. Zijn familie maakte zich erg ongerust, omdat hij maar niet thuiskwam. Er werd een grote zoekactie gestart. Op Eibersburen en in Stroobos werd de vermiste man niet gevonden. Ook Jantje Willems Renkema en een buurman hielpen met zoeken. Tenslotte werd het levenloze lichaam van Reinje Siemens Heemstra gevonden in een sloot vlakbij zijn huis.

    In 1837 trouwde Jantje Willems Renkema met Alke Taekes Meetstra, die in een boerderij woonde bij de tolbrug op Het Dorp.
