Notes about Jacobus Abramsz. (Jacob) Rijnberg

Jacob kwam naar Sint Annaland om als molenaarsknecht bij de weduwe van der Daff aan de slag te gaan. Op 23 april 1760 koopt hij de molen. In het koopcontract staat dat hij jaarlijks vier zakken goede tarwe aan de armen in Sint Annaland moestgeven en aan het dorp ieder jaar twee goede brandemmers of twee rijksdaalders. De molen is rond 1684 gebouwd en was vroeger groen.


Zoals elders bleek ook de molen in Sint-Annaland voor de eigenaar een grote zorg die weinig opbracht. De ambachtsvrouwe, Susanna Louise Huygens, verkocht daarom de molen in 1760 op een openbare veiling voor £ 27 aan haar pachter, molenaar Jacobus Rijnberg. Voor de molenaar bleef de verplichting van levering van vier zakken tarwe aan de armen en twee brandemmers aan het dorp van kracht. Ook moest hij jaarlijks f 180 voor het windrecht betalen. Na de bouw in 1847 van De Vier Winden, de tweede korenmolen in Sint-Annaland, werd het bedrag van het windrecht in 1857 gehalveerd.
