Vonnis van de openbare terechtzitting van 3 november 1905 voor de Arrondissementsrechtbank van Winschoten: Geert Strating, geboren te Winschoten op 17 december 1877, van beroep viskoopman en wonende te Winschoten aan de Engelschetilstraat, wordt gedaagd in verband met belediging, aangedaan aan ambtenaren gedurende de rechtmatige uitoefening van hun bediening. Hij zou in de nacht van 29 op 30 september 1905 te Winschoten, aan de surveillerende Gemeente- en onbezoldigd Rijksveldwachters Rikkert Bakker en Willem Bos opzettelijk de beledigende woorden "kwajongens, snotjongens" hebben toegevoegd. Rikkert Bakker en Willem Bos verklaren, elk voor zich, dat Geert Strating hun de genoemde woorden opzettelijk op brutale, beledigende wijze toevoegde. De Rechtbank verklaart wettig en overtuigend bewezen het beklaagde te laste gelegde en zijn schuld daaraan en veroordeelt hem tot een gevangenisstraf voor de tijd van 14 dagen.
