1942-1947: lid van SS gedurende verblijf te Maagdenburg. Proces: hij zou dit gedaan hebben om illegaal werkzaam te zijn in het belang van de geallieerden. Maar Huub Roosen en zus Carla Roosen-Hajenius konden zich dat niet voorstellen. Trouwens: Roosen en Jacobus Karel waren lid van het Legioen van Oud-Frontstrijders (LOF) en hebben verzetsactiviteiten gepleegd. Uitspraak van het Tribunaal in 1947: vrijspraak. Zijn voormalige werkgever twijfelde aan deze uitspraak en handhaafde eerder ontslag uit gemeentedienst zonder recht op pensioen. (NA, CABR-archief, invent.nr.21365)
Na 1947 werkzaam bij Werkspoor te Amsterdam (Hembrug). In het begin van 1950 werd hij vakbondsbestuurder in de metaalsector en werkte op het kantoor van St. Eloy, de katholieke metaalbewerkersbond te Amsterdam. Later vakbondsbestuurder te Tilburg en in 1957 overgeplaatst naar Venlo. Eind jaren '60 vakbondsbestuurder te Assen (NKV en NVV samengevoegd). Na pensionereing actief o.m. als vice-voorzitter van de Kamer van Koophandel Noord-Limburg. Op 29 april 1980 onderscheiden als Ridder in de orde van Oranje-Nassau.
