Gerrit is herbegraven na de oorlog, om zo bij vader in het familie graf te liggen, later is daar zijn moeder bij gekomen. Gerrit was zwak begaaft en zijn ouders hadden altijd de wens om in een graf te liggen. Moeder zei altijd "hij loopt tussen ons in" nu ligt die tussen ons.
