ging er een belangrijk bedrag aan bankbiljetten verloren.
Door de strenge vorst, waardoor alles aan elkaar was gevroren, was er naar zoeken een onmogelijkheid,
zodat gewacht moest worden tot de dooi inviel.
Het rolletje bankbiljetten werd gevonden, bijna geheel verbrand, maar wel sporen dat het bankpapier was.
Na onderzoek door de Ned.Bank bleek de waarde f1500,- , wat aan Simon is uitbetaald.

Simon en zijn broer Dirk zetten samen het bedrijf van hun vader voort; in 1925 lieten zij samen een graanschuur bij bouwen.
In 1936 liet Dirk alleen er nog een andere schuur bij bouwen.
