Hannes probeerde zoveel mogelijk te helpen zonder extra winst te maken zoals veel anderen wel deden..
Iedereen die langs kwam, kreeg wat.
Petrus Koenders kwam regelmatig bij hem langs en ook na de oorlog hielden ze nog contact.
"Venhuizen" was een begrip als Petrus Koenders (die 6-1-1999 overleed) over de oorlogsjaren vertelde, volgens zijn zoon Pieter.
