      Gerritje heeft dus 6 kinderen gehad die allemaal jong zijn gestorven. Nu kwam het in die tijd wel meer voor dat kinderen jong stierven maar bij haar was het wel heel opvallend dat alle kinderen binnen een jaar overleden. Als de overlevering juist is was voedselvergisftiging iedere keer weer de oorzaak. Gerritje had nl de naam niet zo proper te zijn. de lokale huisarts, Dr. de Wit Boers zou haar hier meerdere keren op hebben gewezen.
