Maartjen kreeg het buitenechtelijk kind Saartje van (vader) Pieter Grin en trouwde met hem in de loop van 1815 of begin 1816.
Zéér waarschijnlijk is Maartjen direct na het overlijden van echtgenoot Pieter in Winkel, verhuisd naar Barsingerhorn want haar laatstgeboren (4e kind) zoon Dirk overleed een week later in Barsingerhorn.

Op huwelijksakte nr. 08 van 15-05-1837 van Saartje Grins staat interessante informatie over het "moederschap" van Maartjen Schoon.
