Hij was in zijn jeugdjaren schoolmeester te Monnikendam, terwijl zijn broer Willem te Purmerend woonde. Dit zou er op kunnen duiden, dat hun ouders bijzondere betrekkingen in Noord-Holland bezaten. De Friezen verlieten hun provincie in die tijd niet zo gemakkelijk. Ook de naan Jaspertje zou al kunnen duiden op Noord-Hollandsche afkomst. De eerste en meeste bewoners van het Bildt waren reeds in de l6e eeuw Noord-HolLanders. Later was Ype Annes schoolmeester te Leeuwarden, tevens geadmistreerd landmeter aldaar, nog later schoolmeester, ontvanger en procureur-fiscaal- bij de grietenij Ferwerderadeel te Hogebeintum, alwaar hem de school door de edelman van Coehoorn op voordelige voorwaarden was opgedragen.
