In het begin van de 17e eeuw, zo rond 1610, wordt de state eigendom van Jacob van Bouritius die afkomstig was uit Dokkum. Zijn dochter Eelck van Bouritius trouwt in 1635 met mr. Epeus van Glinstra, griffier van het Hof van Friesland en lid van de Staten Generaal. In 1657 waren zij eigenaren van Rinia State. Epeus overleed in 1677 en werd in de kerk van Blessum begraven.
In 1722 wordt vermeld dat de state “Mevr. Glinstra” de State bewoont. Dat zal Johanna van Glinstra zijn geweest.
(dit zou dan dus onjuist zijn).
