Bij de doop van zijn eerste twee kinderen woont Jacob te Tirns, maar in 1643 boert hij op Bozum stem 23.
Het is de boerderij van zijn vader, die voor de helft eigenaar is.
De boerderij dateert al van voor 1512 en is bekend als Wlbetsmasate.
Zijn voorouders in vrouwelijke lijn boeren hier al bijna 200 jaar.
Voor 1748 overlijdt Jacob en tot 1753 blijft Grietje hier meierse.
In 1752 wordt wijlen Jacob vermeld in het codicil van zijn grootmoeder Liskje Jacobs.
In 1754 zijn Haring Clases te Mantgum en Jouw Gerlofs te Oosterwierum curatoren over Doecke (14), Dieuwke (12) en Jacob Jacobs (10), kinderen van wijlen Jacob Doeckes en Grietje Nannes, voor de verdeling van hun vaderlijke goederen. Dit op verzoek van Grietje die in ondertrouw is gegaan met Johannes Meynderts van Bozum. Johannes wordt meier van Bozum stem 23 tot Grietjes kinderen hun aandeel in 1759 verkopen.
In 1758 is Grietje overleden; haar broers Meynert, huisman te Ylst, en Gerben te Loënga worden curatoren over de kinderen volgens het testament van Grietje en Johannes.
