In 1812 heeft hij de zilversmidwinkel verruild voor zijn baan op het Stadhuis.
Hij ondertekent zijn laatste acte op 19-4-1818 (trouwacte 32).
In de acte daarna, nr. 33, van 26-4-1818 is zijn -van te voren al ingevulde- naam doorgehaald: Frans Jacobi is zijn vervanger, en na zijn dood zijn opvolger.
Want enkele weken later, op 16-5-1818, komt IJde te overlijden, "nalatende eene bedrukte weduwe met vier kinderen", aldus de overlijdensadvertentie, die ondertekend is door P. de Vries Pz. (die een schoonzoon van IJde zal blijken te zijn).
