Hij was schepen, burgemeester en bouwmeester van Leeuwarden.
Het rijke echtpaar te Leeuwarden werd bekend door vele aan- en verkopen.
Zij werd als weduwe Alydt Arents genoemd.
Inventaris Alydt Arents in HCL Y1 d.d. 30-4-1550.
De kinderen noemen zich soms Arentsma.
