Hij was vanaf 1528 eigenaar van Jornastate te Warga. Boer op Geudt te Hemptewaeren (1543).

Johan Nota: Genealogie Jorna I (Genealogysk Jierboek 1997):
Uit de dossiernummers 1269 en 1270 van de archieven van het Sint Anthony Gasthuis te Leeuwarden blijkt onder meer, dat Jelger Keimpes vanaf circa1528 eigenaar was van Jornastate te Warga.
Ook dat Tzialing Wyaerda in1548 curator is over Jelgers vier minderjarige kinderen.
Volgens het Beneficiaalboek (1543) was hij boer op een 'Guedt teHemptewerren' onder Warga, uit welk goed hij jaarlijks een rente afdroegaan de kerk. In dit boek wordt te Goutum een fenne vermeld vanAytamastate, gelegen tusen Jelger Kempes' fenne en Pier Saepes' landen.En ook: 'Jelger Kempis fenne over de Dijksloot naar dat deel, an Westener Pastorie wegen'.
