IDEMA (Everardus), zoon van Petrus Idema (eerst praeceptor aan de Latijnsche school te Appingedam, daarna predikant te Opwierda van 1711 tot zijn overlijden in 1748) is in 1699 te Appingedam geboren. Den 10en Maart 1718 liet hij zich te Groningen als student inschrijven - gratis, in honorem consanguineorum - en werd in 1722 aldaar proponent. Eerst in Februari 1728 viel hem een beroep naar Thesinge ten deel, waar hij van 9 Mei d.a.v. tot 6 September 1750 arbeidde. Vandaar vertrok hij naar Godlinze, deed er op 20 September 1750 intrede en was daar werkzaam tot 1782, toen zijn emeritaat inging. Den 27en Maart 1783 overleed hij, ruim 84 jaar oud. Van zijn hand verscheen in druk: Het aanvallige en glanzige Sierbeeldt der echte Zioniten, afgemaaldt in XII leerredenen over den XV Psalm en aangedrongen, deels ter ontdekkinge en beschaminge van geruste te Zion, deels ter bemoediginge en opwekkinge der ware Zioniten (Gron. 1740).
