    PR Kontich Blad 976 en 1216 ; viduus Catharina Smits ; leeftijd: 85 jaren ;

    Voortgaande op de leeftijd zou hij rond 1704 moeten geboren zijn. Op basis van de peters en meters van zijn kinderen is er echter geen twijfel dat hij de zoon is van Jacobus en Anna Mertens.

    En dan is er nog zijn jongere broer Joannes Baptistus °1706. Ik zou een overlijdensakte verwachten van Joannes ergens in 1705, zodat het eigenlijk JB is die huwt met Cath. Smits. Die is er niet. Daarboven wordt zijn leeftijd bij overlijden nog eens overschat. Vreemd allemaal !?
