Op 5 augustus 1841 werd het mutueel testament van "Dirk Ruijsch" en Gerarda Maria van Nimwegen verleden voor notaris F. Hekmeijer junior aan het Begijnenplein te Utrecht. Dirk ondertekende met "Dirk Ruijsch", zijnechtgenoot verklaarde de schrijfkunst niet geleerd te hebben.

Op 29 jan. 1856 werd aangifte gedaan van de nalatenschap van Dirk Ruijs.

De onroerende goederen die het echtpaar bezat bestond uit:
een huis met erf en grond en tuin buiten de Waard barrière (= de vroegere Weerdpoort),
op de zuidhoek van de Kraansteeg, wijk M nr.26, en een pakhuis in dezelfde steeg nr. 29, kadastrale nummers sectie A nrs. 27 en 28, kadastraalnummer sectie A nr. 707.
Tenslotte een pakhuis of stalletje daar, wijk M nr. 34, kadastraal nummer A 702.

Zijn weduwe liet bij haar overlijden geen onroerende goederen na; deze waren blijkbaar inmiddels overgegaan op haar jongste zoon Gerrit .
