"Wednesday, March 25, 1931, at 6:30 a.m., Rev. P.A. Grammen, age 63, a native of Los Angeles, Cal. Rev. Grammen died suddenly at the depot while en route to New Orleans after spent the past five years in Mandeville as a retired priest, due to ill health. Rev. Grammen leaves to mourn him one sister of Los Angeles; a niece, Mrs. M. Raimbou, of Mandeville, and a grandniece, Miss Helen Raimbou, of New York.
Rev. Grammen was well known and highly respected throughout the parish and his death is a distinct loss to this community. The funeral took place on Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock at Our Lady of the Lake church, with solemn requiem mass, attended by the neighboring priests of the parish. Interment in Mandevill cemetery."
