Rekest van Antonij Goossens te Diessen, Jan van Diessen uit Westelbeers en Cornelis Smagten uit Hoogeloon over de aanleg van nieuwe dijken van het ene dorp naar het andere door hun vroente of gemeenschappelijke heide en dat o.a. ook is gemaakt ‘eene dijk of breeden weg door de heijde, loopende van Diessen op Westelbeers en van daar op Hoogeloon, Duijzel en Eersel, dat onder Westelbeers dwars over den weg is loopende een rivier of stroom daar alleen aan de eene zijde een kleine brug is leggende genaamt de Schaapsbrug waarover de voetgangers en schappen kunnen passeeren doch dat dien weg met geen karren, rijtuigen of militairen met bagatien kan gebruikt worden dan alleen des somers en bij laag water, doch in den winter en bij hoog water is den zelven weg ten eene maal onbruikbaar’. Men pleit voor een grotere brug maat de kosten daarvan zijn hoog.
