    Notes about Agnès de BOMAL dite d'ALENPONT

    Alenpont est un fief situé à Sart-lez-Walhain, et il dépendait de la seigneurie appelée Bomalle ou Sart-Bomal (A.Wauters, Canton de Perwez, 1865, Walhain-sur-Nil, pp. 33-34). Henri de Verviers scellait d'un sceau que l'on voit apposé sur le document du 21 février 1374 par lequel il reconnait avoir reçu une indemnité pour les pertes qu'il avait subie à la bataille de Baesweiler, où il combattit sous la bannière du comte de Namur, qui portait "un écu à un lion couronné, portant sur l'épaule un écu à un écusson plain en abîme et une bande brochante sur les deux écussons". Légende: Sr Henri fi Gofi de Vervir. Ces Bomal portaient: "D'or à l'écusson de sinople en abîme, à la bande de gueules brochant sur le tout" (Boumale selon Riestap). Ces Bomal sont vassaux sinon sortiss des Walhain qui portaient: "D'or à l'écusson de sinople en abîme". Le lion de Henri de Vervy porte donc bien Bomal dit d'Alenpont sur l'épaule.
