Le 8 janvier 1708, Ignace Lambert fils du procureur de la cour d'€™Esneux Alexandre de Vische fut tué d'€™un coup d'€™arme à feu entre 19 et 20 heures dans la maison de Thomas Petitjean à Crève-coeur près d'€™Esneux . Le chirurgien François Berloz chargé de l'autopsie se rendit le lendemain dans une chambre derrière la cuisine de Petitjean où le cadavre gisait sur un lit et constata €˜qu'€™il était percé d'€™un coup d'€™arme à feu lui porté au ventre du côté droit , lui perçant le sac à merde alias estomac , puis se rendant à l'épine du dos€™, ce qui fut suivi de la mort . Après ce rapport, le seigneur comte Louis d'Argenteau d'Esneux ordonna calenge (enquête ouverte permettant au tribunal de convoquer et d'€™interroger les témoins et offrant à l'accusé la faculté de se défendre dès le début de l'€™action judiciaire) du corps mort avec défense d'€™enlever ou d'€™inhumer le corps sans sa permission. (Cour d'€™Esneux :40-200) .
