Geert Derks Oost is geboren op 22-12-1824 om 12:00 in Zevenhuizen (gem.Leek), zoon van Derk Alberts Oost en Martje Sietes Westerhoff. Van de geboorte is aangifte gedaan op 24-12-1924 [bron: Leek bs. geboorteakte, aktenr.152]. Bij de geboorteaangifte van Geert waren de volgende getuigen aanwezig: Jan Aalmoes en Doede Johannes Pol. Geert is overleden op 13-01-1880 in Nieuw Buinen (Borger), 55 jaar oud. Van het overlijden is aangifte gedaan op 14-08-1880 [bron: Borger bs. overlijdensakte, aktenr. 72]. Geert trouwde, 30 jaar oud, op 14-07-1855 in Leek [bron: Huwelijksakte, aktenr. 24] met Albertje Lap, 33 jaar oud.
