Vorige huis (chocoladewinkel Amsterdam) was in zeer slechte staat.
Toen is hij op de fiets gestapt en zou niet stoppen voordat hij een
nieuw huis gevonden had. Uiteindelijk kwam hij in Haarlem terecht,
waar aan de Rijksstraatweg 120 een winkel met bovenhuis te stond.
Naast de manifacturenwinkel alhier bleef hij timmeren voor het gezin,
maar vond geen werk in die branche.
