    Zuid-Hollandsch dagblad d.d. 11-7-1944:
    In den Nacht van Zaterdag op Zondag heeft een ernstig geval van gasverstikking in de Hoenderparklaan te Kwinstheul, drie slachtoffers gemaakt, waarvan twee reeds zijn overleden. Aldaar woonde het bejaarde echtpaar de Brabander met de nog ongehuwde zoon Jan. Man en vrouw waren reeds heel lang ziek. Een gasslangetje, dat gescheurd was blijkt van de leiding te zijn geschoten. De vrouw en haar zoon kwamen door gasverstikking om het leven. De oude man heeft zich nog tot aan de deur weten te sleepen. Hij werd in ernstigen toestand in het St. Hypolitus ziekenhuis te Delft opgenomen.

    Derde slachtoffer van gasverstikking -In het St. Hypolitys ziekenhuis te Delft is ook het derde slachtoffer van de gasverstikking aan de Hoenderparklaan te Kwinstheul, de heer A.N. de Brabander aan de gevolgen van de gasvergiftiging overleden.
