Hermanus overleed toen hij 54 jr 7 mnd en 6 dgn oud was Toen hij trouwde was hij oud 31 jr 11 mnd en 27 dgn Bij het huwelijk waren getuigen: Gerard Janssen, veldwachter, oud 40 jr Theodoor Peters, kuiper, 34 jr Leonard Peters, bakker, 40 jr en Martin van Soest, akkerman, oud 27 jr.
Hij overlijd in Egchelshoek nr. 55, later nr. 60.
Herman werd ook wel genoemd Berb ziene Thies of wel Manusse Thies.
Hij trouwde in bij zijn schoonouders Mathis Janssen, pachtboer op Gelenhof. Zij hebben in 1848 een eigenboerderij gebouwd, langs de Catharina hoeve aan de huidige Egchelseweg. Wellicht is Herman hier na zijn huwelijk komen wonen. Lang bleef hij hier echter niet, ze vertrokken in 1870 naar huisnr. 133. In 1889 komt Herman met zijn gezin en vader Joachim terug naar de boerderij aan de Egchelshoek 55. In het bevolkinsregister van 1890 - 1910 kreeg dit huis nr. 60. In 1909 kwam Joanna Elisabeth Karis, geboren 24 augustus 1883 inwonen. Zij bleef tot 1910.
Het kadasternr. van de plaats waar de boerderij lag was sectie E Claessenveld no 1676 Janssen Mathis nr. 55. In 1878 had een deling plaats gevonden. En kadaster nr 55 O.A.H. 2385 en 2850.
