Zoon van Frans Abrahams (grondwerker) en Maria Catharina Nijns. De plaquette in het NS-station te Simpelveld is aangebracht ter nagedachtenis aan een personeelslid van de Nederlandse Spoorwegen dat tijdens de bezettingsjaren door oorlogshandelingen zijn omgekomen. Pieter J.F. Abrahams werd op 11 november 1943 in Duitsland tewerkgesteld en kwam daarvan op 8 mei 1944 ziek thuis. Tengevolge hiervan is hij later, op 6 juni 1944, overleden.
